I received my camera just two days prior to my 3 week vacation to the NorthWest and Durango, CO. I did not have time to properly learn about all the features, but I am very happy with the camera and everyone who sees it is impressed. I took over 300 pictures of scenery and family, and was amazed at the quality. Very comparable to my son’s camera which cost over $400. It is bulky in size compared to many other cameras, but that is just the shape I wanted. It is easier to grasp, point and shoot. I highly recommend this Nikon Coolpix L110.

I was worried about ordering this camera bc one good review & one bad…so I took a chance. When I first tried it… I got blurry pics & was a little frustrated! I sat down, read the manual, made some adjustments, & now I love it! The pics are super clear and it has alot of features that I haven’t gotten to use yet! I keep my manual handy since I’m still learning how to work all the features but I would definately recommend this camera!

I purchased this camera primarily for the Continuous Sport mode, since my son is an avid skateboarder. The first set of photos I took came out fairly clear, but with an odd ‘outline’ around him (outdoors, dusk ~ 6pm). I adjusted a few settings, and the next set came out well (outdoors, ~ 4pm, slightly cloudy). At this point, I was pretty happy with the camera – I thought the number of images per second was very impressive, and I was pleased with the amount of shots that were taken.

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there… Indoor birthday party photos (set to indoor mode, with and without flash) came out with an orange tone. The next 2 sets of Sports Mode images were taken at indoor skateparks, and all of the images came out streaky. After reviewing the manual, I realized I would only be able to use this mode in very limited situations. Nikon recommends NOT using sports mode in basically any environment where you would watch or play sports — bright sunlight, under bright indoor lights, under fluorescent lights, etc. I suppose you need to be outdoors between 2-4pm, with the sun behind you, and with slight cloud cover to avoid any sort of glare. And forget about taking photos after the sun goes down – those were grainy and blurry.

I’m extremely disappointed that this didn’t work out. I loved the size of it, and the shiny red body really made it stand out. I was hoping this would be a good transition camera before entering the world of SLRs, but, unfortunately it didn’t meet my needs. I’m sending it back tomorrow morning.

Love it so far. Bought this model a couple of months ago specifically for the “sports” photography features. I wanted good on-field soccer pictures, without spending a ton of money. The zoom is GREAT! Love the 20 second back to back shots feature also – great for capturing that perfect slo-mo shot.

Purchased this camera for my daughter’s 20th birthday. She has taken it on a cross-country trip for three weeks and has loved using it. The sports setting makes it easy to get great shots of fast moving sports. I have 2 other pocket sized Nikon cameras and have received excellent customer service. I have found that their warranty is much better than some other brands. I’m a real Nikon fan.

who emailed me the most stunning picture (after she learned how to operate the camera, of course) taken while she was walking, of a flowering bush with a magnificent butterfly at rest….The shot was clear, the colors breathtaking….That’s the best I can say re the camera…..My daughter selected the camera, make and model, sent me the info with a price she had gotten somewhere online….I came directly to amazon.com and saved a pretty penny, which includes an additional purchase for a Transcend Memory Card! Amazon did it again–they have never failed me yet and so I am a happy consumer and faithful customer. Go amazon.com!!

I really love my camera! It takes awesome pictures and the HD videos are amazing! I haven’t taken it on any photo taking trips yet, just pictures of family and friends but so far, so good!! My last camera was a Canon, which got passed down to my daughter when I bought this one! This Nikon is a much better camera.

If you want to move up from a pocket size point and shoot camera to one with a 15X zoom, this is a good choice. The picture quality equals many point and shoot cameras, and the 15X zoom and anti-shake features allow you a great deal more flexibilty. Without casting any negativity on reviewers who gave unfavorable ratings, I can only assume that they didn’t set the camera on ‘auto mode’ which does permit you to set the flash mode, and allows some white balance compensation. You can also pick Nikon’s preset camera modes, but ‘auto mode’ works best. Does the picture quality equal a digital slr camera? Of course not. Are the quality of pictures equal to my Canon SD1000 point and shoot? Yes. Is it priced like a 15X zoom digital slr? No.

The camera’s viewfinder/playback screen is one of the camera’s other highlights. It has a very high pixel count and is the same as one used on Nikon’s higher priced digital camera. The HD video recording approaches that of a mid priced HD camcorder. I had NO problems playing back HD movies on any of my HD TVs, and I don’t understand the complaints about poor picture quality, bad flash pictures, and poor HD video. I can only assume people didn’t understand the directions, which aren’t the best, left the camera in ‘easy mode’, which is how it is set out of the box, or they got defective units and simply should have exchanged them. While this camera probably isn’t exceptional in any one category, it performs very well across almost all categories and is a steal in the performance vs price segment.
