I bought this camera after reading all the + reviews on several web sites. This is a very good camera for the price.

Pro’s: price, simple to use, slips right into you shirt pocket or purse, very good pictures, bright LCD (sorry Kodak), uses AA batteries, good video.

Con’s: none! I highly recommend this camera.

Purchased this prior to a vacation this summer. The camera functioned very well. Daylight photos were almost as good as my digital slr. Low light needed the subjects to be still and a steady hand. Great value for the money. The extra optical zoom set this camera ahead of the pack. Most in the class only have 3x this one has 3.8x. The fact that it takes standard AA batteries was a huge plus when the recharagble batteries ran out. You will need to buy your own rechargable batteries and charger this unit does not come with them. Many in this class do. This is my only knock.

I bought this camera for my 7 YO this past Christmas to replace a sub-$100 Nikon P&S that failed after 2 years. I was at first concerned with Nikon’s poor reputation for P&S cameras, it has a plastic body, and the need to go into the electronic menu to change basic settings rather than turn a physical dial. However, this did not at all trouble my daughter and she quickly figured it all out. NOTE: I’m just in awe of how easily even the youngest kids seem to be able to quickly master complex mobile phones and digital electronics. It has a decent size viewfinder that’s been easy to see in bright outdoor light. The camera has consistently produced satisfying snap shots and 5×7 enlargements (good color and sharpness) and is really easy to use. Battery life is OK and it uses regular batteries so replacements are never an issue. She loves this camera and I kind of like it too … when I get the chance to use it.

In our experience, it’s been a reliable entry level camera.

A terrific camera! I got an 8G card to go with it and there is always plenty of room for more pix. The zoom is much better than my previous digital camera. The Nikon software for the computer works great. A really decent back-up device for great memories.

I received my Nikon L22 in less time than I was expecting it. As I was going on a trip, this was very pleasing to me. My camera arrived in perfect shape and I’m most happy with my purchase. The price and quality was everything I expected and more. I have shown my camera to many family members and they are very surprised and amazed at the photo quality and clarity, the looks of this very sleek, compact camera, and that I got it all for an amazing low price! Yes, I will do more business with Amazon!

I am no “techie”, but this camera is user friendly and takes beautiful pictures. It does all the adjustments automaticly. If you want a “point & shoot”, no-brainer I recommend this camera. AND it is “pretty”.

Hubby and I were on vacation when our camera started to act up on us. We went to a chain store we trust and bought this camera based on the Nikon reputation, the fact that it takes AA batteries and uses the same storage media as the one we currently have. That night I checked out the different settings until I became comfortable changing them. While using it both hubby and I found we switched to pix review with our thumbs often. When we got home I downloaded the pix. We’re happy with the ones taken close and on land, but, the ones taken on boats (we went on a couple of sailboats on vacation) and the ones taken at a distance I’m disappointed with. It seems like most of the boat pix are blurry; the seas weren’t choppy. I don’t think this will take good pix at our grandsons ball games, either.

I’m now in the process of researching a camera with some type of stabilization feature and one with a longer optical zoom.

This is the 4th Nikon Coolpix that I purchased. I owned the Coolpix L6 and liked it very much. The L6 was a great little camera to have in your pocket or purse. It took great photos. The only bad thing – which was big – that I didn’t like about that camera was the shutter lag on flash photos. In spite of that, I liked the small size and very nice photos. I purchased two more as gifts. Unfortunately, I dropped mine and wanted to replace it. I purchased the L22 and took it to a wedding. Out of 50 photos, I only have one nice one. I tried it in the garden both on regular and on macro – again did not perform well. Most photos are blurry. Thank goodness for the great return policy at! I will be selecting another camera soon.

I originally bought the Coolpix S203 and LOVED it. Good quailty pictures, chargeable battery and very slim. Super easy to carry around. When it got wet and died I wanted to replace it with the same model. Alas, it is no longer made. So, because I enjoyed my first Nikon Coolpix, I bought the L22 and was completly dissapointed. It seemed HUGE compared to my tiny S203 and the pictures were always blurry. It took extra seconds to switch from camera to movie and even to take a simple posed picture required 2.5 seconds of holding the button. Not a chance you would ever catch a good candid shot. I returned it and bought the S3000. Best idea and worth the extra $15. Plus this one does not require AA batteries like the L22.

The camera is very good in quality and small in design. It meets all the requirements I was looking for and does a beutiful job that lives up to its ads. I have always enjoyed Nikon cameras and the zoom fits in perfectly for my needs.
